Changing Children’s Lives Today and Tomorrow

Our Mission

Our Mission is to broaden the horizons of deserving children in greater Nehalem Bay and North Tillamook County. We provide life expanding opportunities for targeted children in elementary, middle and high school, and children with special needs through special non‐school sponsored experiences away from home.

Our Programs

The Programs are designed to teach children the fundamentals of lifelong stellar citizenship by encouraging them to be responsible for their individual actions, respect themselves and others, maintain high integrity, exhibit socially accepted behaviors, expand their life experiences, minds and curiosities.

Our History

Jim Mudd and Doug Nicholson, friends since their days at Oregon State University, decided to start a coed golf tournament in 1990, which they christened the Mudd Nick Invitational. In 2006, the Mudd Nick Foundation was formed as a 501(c)(3) non-profit and a board of nine directors was selected to develop a Vision, Mission, Guiding Principles and Objectives. Over the last nine years, in excess of $1,000,000 has been raised to support 30 to 50 programs annually.

Our Annual Event

For over 25 years, people associated with the Mudd Nick Foundation have celebrated the third weekend in September with a Friday dinner, 18-hole golf tournament on Saturday, and dinner and charity auction that evening. Our pre-golf tournament dinner will take place on September 15, 2017 followed by our annual charity golf tournament and the annual dinner and charity auction on September 16, 2017.
