On June 14 and 15, the Mudd Nick Foundation Board, Advisory Council and Program Coordinators participated in a strategic planning session facilitated by Lorraine Ortiz and Sarah Johnson, local consultants who work extensively with non-profit boards. The end product of this process will be creation of a Strategic Plan that will guide the Foundation’s work over the course of the next few years and enable it to be sustainable long into the future.
To fund this strategic planning process, the Board applied for and received a $5,000 Capacity Building Grant from the Ford Family Foundation headquartered in Roseburg, Oregon. During this strategic planning retreat, the Foundation’s purpose, vision, and mission were clearly articulated and program and organizational elements were refined. Based on this important work, the consultants will assist the Board in creating its Strategic Plan by the September 30 deadline set by the Ford Family Foundation.
This strategic planning process has excited and energized Board members, the Advisory Council and staff, and renewed their commitment to the children the Mudd Nick Foundation serves.
